Job Purpose

Provide strategic direction and leadership in financial planning, budgeting, internal control and reporting for the company to achieve outstanding financial performance. In liaison with Shared Services he/she shall analyze data and prepare accurate reports, payroll, stock levels in accordance with the TATA’s financial policies and International Financial Reporting Standards.  

Key Responsibilities

Ensures the integrity of the annual financial statements by ensuring that they portray a true and fair view, meet legal requirements, comply with relevant Standards and reflect best practices. Work with SSC in a manner to ensure a full, accurate and timely recording and reconciliation of all transactions in the Books of Accounts. Follow-up, monitor and review to ensure proper MIS reports are issued every month. Ensure accurate and complete customer and vendor reconciliation, and issuance of reports and follow up on reconciliation items. Lead the local Finance team; train, support and supervise the teams. Liaise with BU heads for due business support and financial control. Liaise with Auditors, HO, and Statutory agencies on financial related matters. Ensure valid contracts, agreements, LPO'S and any other necessary documents are in place with corresponding transactions. Full Documentation of all transactions need to be ensured in a timely manner. Check and ensure accuracy of Payment documents, vouchers, bank updating etc. Ensure accurate Payroll preparation and disbursement of salaries Working Capital management; liaise with Banks for regular transactions, trouble-shooting, renewal of facilities etc. Ensure all statutory dues –e.g. PAYE, NHIF, VAT etc. are accurately captured and submitted in time. Ensure timely and adequate insurance coverage for Company’s assets and risks. Assist in the Year-end, Internal and Government audits. Provide due financial and related reports for management for appropriate actions. Exception reporting highlighting control weaknesses with suggested actions. Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time in fulfillment of company’s mandate. Review and approval of Emerge BU MIS Reports, Consolidated MIS P& L and CE and quarterly IFRS pack Managing timely interim and final statutory audits and internal audits to final conclusion and clearance. Approval of Sales orders and purchase orders as per the approval matrix. Approval on iT assist for customer creation, vendor creation , user access rights, Ensure proper controls are in place to safeguard the fixed assets and inventory against misuse and fraud through inspection, regular stocks take counts and ensure all assets are properly maintained and insured against probable risks. Any other duty assigned by the Regional Financial Controller.

Educational Qualifications

Graduation: Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Business Administration or any other related field majoring in Accounting/Finance. Post-Graduation: Membership in ACCA/CPA or its equivalent
